Three Times Divorced
Coming November 7 | Khitam, a young Palestinian woman, was married by matchmaking to an Israeli muslim. After having six children and living a miserable — her abusive husband, backed by the Shari’a court which rules on muslim marriages in Israel, banishes her from their home. Refusing to submit to tradition any longer, Kitham instead chooses to fight this repressive system.
Through the stories of Khitam, Mona, and the women around them, Three Times Divorced sheds light on this patriarchal religious-judicial system which continues to control women’s rights, their bodies, and their fates.
